Plein Air With My Bike

Loaded up my bike and went around doing some scouting and painting. I have been able to get my oils and watercolors all in the same backpack, along with the tripod and everything I need. Still, working on streamlining it further and making it quicker and easier to transport and set up.

If you are interested in owning an original painting, please contact me. Sold work will be marked.

This is my trusty steed, a 1993 GT Talera. Outfitted with a simple rear rack, my Kelty backpack, and an assortment of bungee cords.

I started with this one of my backyard and the butterfly bushes, daylilies, and crepe myrtle.

From there I rode down to the riverfront and our new park. I picked this view of the bridge, the RiverPark Center, and the Veterans Memorial.

Being it was a pretty hot day in the 90's with 100% humidity, I rode over to a coffee house and had me a couple of cold drinks. Then set up and painted this view in watercolor.

Then the next morning I headed out and did a couple more. I rode all total about 30 miles on this day, only painting two, but scouted out several potential spots I'd like to go back to.

This was a little farther on down the road and setup a watercolor.
